Along with Lian and Calatagan, Nasugbu is on the western side of Batangas. The beaches are great, though the sand is not as white in contrast to that of Laiya, it is more accessible from Manila-Cavite Expressway and Tagaytay via Aguinaldo highway. As part of our almost yearly tradition of going to the beach during summers, we went to Nasugbu and stayed at Bernabeach Resort.
Those are photos of both ends of the series of beach resorts in Brgy. Bucana. Took those photos while I’m half submerged in the water about a few meters away from the shore.
It was already way past sunset when we reached Bernabeach Resort so the kids had to wait until next morning for them to enjoy the sea. Here’s Daniel who, at that time, had just woke up the next day.
It took me a while (and a lot of sweet talks and brute force) before I was able to convince my son to go to the shore. He was hesitant to go at first, perhaps due to the unusual grainy sensation cause by wet sands clinging on his feet and a nasty crab incident that happened a night before, but everything changed when I finally got to take him there.

At first, he was just enjoying making sand castles…
then he started scooping and throwing wet sands…
he sat in the sands to scoop some more…
and then the waves started to make him thrilled…
and as if just sitting there isn’t fun enough…
I was having a blast taking photos of the cutest little guy in the universe but the moment he called me to join him, “Daddy, ikaw din,” I had to leave my camera in the shore (not minding the sand could damage it) to join my son. For a moment there it felt like I was given privileged access to his inner world. Or as the fox would put it, “I have tamed him.”
And that’s the best moment of 2013 that I couldn’t have had had I failed to submit to his invitation.
My daughter, on the other hand, didn’t seem to like the shore (or was it just a matter of sibling rivalry: one should not consent with the other). Even when she was way way younger, she hates the feeling of wet sands sticking to her feet.

Good thing Bernabeach resort have pools so she still was able to enjoy.

Other activities you may enjoy in the beach.

Kite flying.

Taking photos using large-display tablets and ipads, something that I’ll still find weird even in a hundred years. That’s an ice cream and ice pops vendor on the right.

Pester poor little crabs crawling in the sand. And horseback riding.
I know one of you is bound to ask for a photo of the room so here it is along with other things I don’t usually take photos of.
Cooking is allowed in the resort but they only have grills available. There are electrical outlets in the gazebos that you may use for a fee but if you’re a cheapo, just top the grill with your kaldero.

There are cottages available in Bearnabeach Resort for large and small groups.
Bearnabeach Resort is a beachfront resort located, alongside two other resorts, in Apacible Boulevard in Nasugbu, Batangas. Check the detailed tab below for the map and contact information.
And should you need more summer getaway options, you may want to check out these other Batangas beach resort posts I made in the past. We got acquainted with an underdeveloped shores of Calayo in 2009 and the following year, we frolicked in the white sands of Laiya. We broke away from the shores in 2011 and 2012 for reasons I couldn’t understand but I hope I could take my kids next year to somewhere more grand.

March 30, 2017 at 11:02 AMHi Leen! Are you the one who asked on Facebook? Anyways, service, facilities, and the resort is good overall. Malinis ang beach front and the water in the washrooms are good. But always ask when using other facilities – cottages, electrical outlets, etc – as they have charges for almost everything extra. Always ask before using anything. And good luck to your family activities this coming holy week.
